Green Hell jorney. Part 2. Basic tools and resources

Hello, survivor! Are you ready for a jungle vacation this autumn? Give me a "hell yeah" if you do because I am completely ready. In this series, I will start a new journey through the Amazonian rainforest. I will provide you with all practical information about crafting tools and weapons, armor, what you should eat, and how different foods must be prepared. Together, we will manage to find all useful healing plants, neutralize poison or infection, hunt different animals, both peaceful ones and predators. Find out how to grow different plants and learn different ways of fishing. And, of course, we will fight back the local aborigines of Yabahuaca. So, let the show begin.

As always, I spawned in the middle of nowhere. But this time, the location was new to me. Looking around, I found some peaceful and cute peccaries. A little bit further was an abandoned camp and a dried riverbed. I was lucky and found a Steel Axe. When you're traveling in the jungle and find any abandoned camps of Yabahuaca or smugglers, always carefully watch for different rare loot such as candies, energy bars, equipment, or new technologies. It is very important for prosperous surviving.

At the very beginning, the most important thing is to collect Sticks, Small sticks, Stones, and Sianas. Both types of sticks can be found on the ground. Lianas are growing on big trees with moss growth and leaves. Usually, you may collect three pieces from one common tree, but sometimes this number increases to four. Just walk around and take all that you can find. Stones are usually found on huge rocks or near rivers. There are two types of stones: small ones instantly go into the backpack, and big ones can be carried in hands or by pressing the Right button and choosing the Get/Collect option. This will give you 3-4 small stones.

Yeah, bow creation is the first and one of the most important steps in your survival. To create it, you must find a tree, take your stone axe (how to create it is shown in the next picture), cut it down, and find a long stick. Right-click and choose "Create." You will see some stone table where you can place different ingredients. One ingredient, a long stick, is already placed; add one of your lianas. If the recipe is correct, you will see the name of the new item and confirm creation. This works for all that you can do in this game. Now, I'll show you some simple recipes.

If you craft a bow, of course, you need Arrows. You need one Small stick and Two feathers. Feathers can be found on the ground. Normally, you can find one feather. But if you are lucky, you may find a dead bird on the ground. Take it and collect from your backpack. You will get 3-4 feathers and some meat.

You need a Stone knife to start collecting meat from animals you hunted down and for a basic stone spear. Use two small stones to create your first knife.

To protect yourself in close combat or when you have no arrows, you can throw a spear. To create a basic one, you just need to find a long stick on the ground and create a Basic Spear. You may still create an upgraded variant of a spear. Put together a Stone Knife, Liana, and Long Stick, and you will get a Stone Spear. Now you can stick it in someones butt.

One of the most important tools is a Stone Axe. You can make a simple version by putting together a Stick and a Stone. You can also make a better version called simply an Axe. Put together a Stick, Two Stones, and Liana.

Also, it's important not to die from dehydration. It is crucial to have water in your backpack. To do so, you must find a coconut. Basically, they could be found on the ground near huge palm trees. Look up, and you probably will see several more coconuts on a tree. You can shoot them with small stones from your backpack. Just press R, hold, and then shoot. Use weapons to remove the green peel from your coconut. Then, you may drink water from it. Put together Coconut and Liana to create a Coconut bidon. Now you can put water inside. Collect it from a river (dangerous water), rainwater from coconut bowls, or boiled water from your campfire.

And the last of the basic equipment you must have on your first day is the Hand Drill Plank or Hand Drill. To create a hand drill, you need to put together a Small stick and Stick. Personally, I like Hand Drill Plank more because it looks better. Cut down a tree. Find a Log. Collect it. The wooden plank will be added to your inventory. Put together Wooden Plank and Small stick to get your new fire equipment. Don't forget that to create fire you need not only the tool but at least 30% of your stamina and some fuel: dry grass or a bird's nest. Nests can be found on old dry trees. Grass could be cut down and, in several hours, on the ground or your backpack, it transforms into dry grass.

And these are the basic tools and resources you will need to find before the evening comes. Be careful and attentive. Watch your step and don't run too often. Next time, we will speak about basic building and my first base. Take care my friends and don't leave your camp at night :)
