7 days to die. Alpha 22 news update.
Greetings survivors!
I have some fresh news about one of my favorite games. The developers shared information on their podcast, and we've got updates on armor sets and character customization.
First of all, now you can't create some ugly freak with pink hair and green skin. You will be able to choose from several pre-made faces, body types, hairstyles, and even some beards. From the screenshots, I personally like what I see. The new faces look nice, and even the female characters are pretty 😊 But honestly, do you often see your character's face? Only when you want to check your buffs/debuffs or allocate skill points. Nevertheless, it will be a nice addition to customization.
The armor and clothing system will also be remade. The massive clothing slots will be reduced to 4, eliminating the separation of armor and clothes. Now, you will be able to make armor sets, where each element gives a small bonus, and the full set provides a massive bonus to your character. For now, developers have created 15 different sets. I'll give you some examples to help you understand what I'm talking about.
Lumberjack Set:
Upper clothes: Cold protection; -20% stamina consumption when using axes.
Gloves: Cold protection; +10 Axe damage.
Cap: Cold protection; +20% wood gathering.
Boots: Cold protection; decrease stamina consumption while running in woods and winter biomes.
Full set: +10 armor; gives 5 extra item slots.
Farmer Set:
Upper clothes: +10% to collect extra food. Every quality grade increases that bonus up to 100%.
Gloves: +10% damage with rifles.
Hat: Increases chance of finding seeds while looting.
Boots: Decreases stamina consumption while running on grass.
Full set: +10 armor; over limited food causes no overload.
Nomad Set:
Upper clothes: Radiation protection; opens +10 free slots in the inventory.
Gloves: Radiation protection; +20% lockpicking.
Hood: Radiation protection; radiation wounds healing +20% faster.
Boots: Radiation protection; +20% running speed on mountains and diagonal surfaces.
Full set: +20% trading bonus.
Miner Set:
Upper clothes: -20% stamina consumption while working with a pickaxe.
Gloves: Increase pickaxe damage.
Helmet: +20% mining gathering bonus.
Boots: Decrease damage from mine collapsing.
Full set: +10 armor; over limited ore causes no overload.
Considering the new armor sets, I think the perk table will also be changed sooner or later. It will be interesting for me to try out these new clothes and experiment with set layouts. What also catches my eye is that on every set, you may see dynamically moving objects. It looks pretty cool and makes the view more natural. It seems that in the future, all add-ons we put into armor will be visually seen. This is not 100% accurate information, but perhaps I am right, and we will get some more visible beauty.
I hope the developers soon release a new update on Alpha 22, and we will ASAP give you fresh and actual information about our beloved game. Stay safe, and don't let zombies bite your candy backsides 😊
