Warhammer 40,000: Speed Freeks Blazes onto Steam with Early Access Launch

The Warhammer 40,000 universe has just gotten a lot faster and more chaotic with the release of Warhammer 40,000: Speed Freeks on Steam. Developed by Caged Element and published by PLAION, this free-to-play, combat racing game entered Early Access on August 6, 2024, and is now available for download​ (Steam Store)​.

A High-Octane Ork Experience

In Speed Freeks, players join a kult of speed-obsessed Orks who have taken their passion for fast-paced warfare to the extreme. The game offers an exhilarating blend of racing and combat, where players drive heavily armed and armored vehicles across various battlefields, vying for dominance in a series of high-speed, explosive matches​​.

The Early Access release includes two primary game modes:

Deff Rally - A mode where 16 players race to capture and control points before sprinting to the finish line.

Kill Konvoy - Teams race alongside massive Stompas, battling to ensure their convoy reaches the finish line first​​.

Players can choose from several vehicle classes, including damage dealers, tanks, and support wagons, each with unique abilities tailored to different playstyles. The game currently features eight customizable vehicles and six diverse maps set in the grimdark Warhammer 40,000 universe​.

The developers at Caged Element have been clear about the Early Access phase being a period for community feedback and ongoing development. They aim to refine the game based on player input, with a full release planned for later this year.
