Palworld: Steam sensation with 86,000 copies sold per hour
Palworld has surpassed Cyberpunk 2077 and Elden Ring in peak online player count on Steam and is selling at a rate of 86 thousand copies per hour.
Developers from the Japanese studio Pocketpair (Craftopia) shared new achievements of Palworld, a multiplayer survival simulator in early access that revolves around collecting "pokemon with guns."
To recap, Palworld's early access began on January 19, and within eight hours, the game had already sold 1 million copies on PC (Steam, Microsoft Store), Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, despite being available on Game Pass.
It's now known that within just three days of its release, Palworld's global sales exceeded 5 million copies. According to Pocketpair, the game has gained momentum and is flying off the shelves at a rate of 86 thousand units per hour.
Palworld also boasts impressive concurrent player numbers on Steam. On January 21, the game reached a peak online player count of 1,291,967, making it the fifth-highest result in the history of the service.
Whether playing solo or in cooperative mode with up to four players, Palworld allows you to collect and breed "Pals" (pokemon), send them into battles, work in factories, and construct buildings. If necessary, you can even consume your pets as food.
