However, one peculiar moment arises during Shotzi's promo, leaving me with mixed feelings about her new persona compared to the old, preferred version of Nikki Cross.
Bayley makes her appearance and delivers a sharp response, claiming that Team Bianca is merely a union of solo egos and critics of Damage Control, not a true team. However, Becky Lynch is not here for words tonight; she's here for action. The main event for the evening is set: Becky Lynch and one of her teammates will face Bayley and a member of Damage Control.
Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions Finn Balor and Damian Priest vs The Street Profits
Last week, The Street Profits secured the first contender spot for the WWE Tag Team Titles, setting the stage for tonight's clash against the reigning champions, Finn Balor and Damian Priest. The Profits have been on a hot streak lately, backed by the unwavering support and investment from The All Mighty. The potential for future success seems promising, but my gut is filled with doubt as the Judgment Day looms large for these two rising stars.
Judgment Day is currently riding a wave of success, and losing tonight could jeopardize their momentum. Tomorrow, they are slated for a high-stakes match against some of the top WWE superstars, making a victory tonight all the more crucial. The presence of Rhea Ripley near the ring undoubtedly played a significant role. Whenever Mommy accompanies her boys, the odds seem to tilt in their favor.
However, I can't help but question the decision of Bobby Lashley and B-Fab to stay backstage instead of being at ringside. Personally, I believe their presence could have tipped the scales in favor of The Street Profits. Despite their absence, Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford delivered an outstanding performance, executing a flawless Tag Team Blockbuster. They came close to finishing off Priest, but the critical moment unfolded when Rhea intervened.
Rhea's distraction of the referee created the opening for Finn to launch an attack on Ford and ultimately seal the victory with Angelo receiving the Coup De Grace. Bobby Lashley's anger post-match suggests that Judgment Day may encounter additional problems in their bank. Regardless, Finn and Damian retain their titles, heading into a colossal and intricate challenge tomorrow.
Grayson Waller Effect with Kevin Owens (not real)
This segment on the Grayson Waller Effect with Kevin Owens was undeniably one of the most entertaining talk shows in recent WWE history. Waller, in his usual charismatic style, invited Kevin Owens to join him for the evening. However, a surprising twist occurred when Austin Theory, dressed as Owens, initially entered the ring, setting the stage for a parody-filled evening.
Kevin Owens, the real one, eventually made his entrance to the delight of the audience. The banter between Owens and Theory was filled with humor and memorable catchphrases:
Grayson: Well, he must be dressed like you, and we should make fun of you.
Kevin: Make fun of me? Jokes on you, buddy - I never looked better!
Kevin: Hey Theory, where did you get these shorts!? These are my shorts! I haven't seen them in months. Did you go through my bag, you creep!?
Kevin: You know what, guys? You've lined up right now that I should punch both of you at the same time!

LA Knight and Kevin Owens vs Grayson Waller and Austin Theory
Following the electrifying segment on the Grayson Waller Effect, a highly anticipated match ensued, showcasing the skills of both teams. The dynamics of the bout were solid, with each team seizing opportunities and changing the momentum throughout. Although my initial expectation leaned towards a victory for LA Knight and Kevin Owens, the opposing team displayed commendable performances and came close to securing a win several times.
In a surprising turn of events, Kevin Owens and LA Knight swiftly executed their finishing moves, catching Austin Theory and Grayson Waller off guard. The suddenness of the sequence resulted in a rapid knockdown of both Theory and Waller. LA then capitalized on the moment, pinning Austin Theory to secure the victory for his team.
The match was a testament to the talents of all involved. I highly recommended this match for anyone seeking an entertaining and competitive display of professional wrestling.
Confrontation between Carlito and Santos Escobar
On our latest SmackDown, the Latino storyline took center stage, featuring Carlito's return to the ring after many years. During his in-ring announcement, Carlito spoke passionately, mixing English and Spanish, making it challenging for non-Spanish speakers to fully understand. However, it seems he made a promise to avenge his friend Rey Mysterio.
The situation escalated when Santos Escobar interrupted, accusing Carlito of being responsible for Rey's trauma and the destruction of the LWO familia. The verbal confrontation quickly turned physical, with Escobar launching a surprise attack on
Carlito's arm, potentially causing injury.
The backstage drama continued as Escobar persisted in his assault on Carlito's arm. Dragon Lee intervened, coming to Carlito's aid and forcing Santos to retreat. This turn of events sets the stage for a compelling match between Dragon Lee and Santos Escobar.
In an interesting twist, Lucha sensation Dragon Lee approached Nick Aldis, presumably seeking Carlito's spot in tomorrow's match against Santos Escobar. The upcoming clash between Dragon Lee and Escobar promises to be an intriguing and intense showdown, adding another layer to the ongoing Latino storyline on SmackDown.
The End of Brawling Brutes?
YES BOY! It seems like Pretty Deadly has become one of my favorite teams in the modern era, and their encounters with the Brawling Brutes on SmackDown have been quite engaging. Last week's match took an unexpected turn when an accident between Butch and Ridge allowed Street Profits to secure a victory.
The aftermath revealed a lack of cohesion between Butch and Ridge, as Ridge entered the ring seemingly dispassionate and dominated Pretty Deadly on his own. However, when Butch tagged in, Ridge unexpectedly abandoned his partner, leaving him to face the talented opponents alone.
Despite Butch's impressive track record as one of the longest-reigning NXT UK champions, Pretty Deadly capitalized on the situation, with a hidden tag by Kit Wilson leading them to another victory over the Brawling Brutes.
The uncertain future for Butch and Ridge as a team raises questions about their partnership. Your suggestion of Sheamus returning to help resolve their issues adds an intriguing element to the storyline, and it remains to be seen how this situation will unfold in the coming weeks on SmackDown.
Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair vs Bayley and Asuka
The highly anticipated main event of the evening unfolded with Damage Control making a united and formidable entrance, standing together in solidarity. On the opposing side, Charlotte and Becky arrived separately, each with their own entrance music. While there's no denying the individual skill of Flair and Lynch, the cohesiveness of Damage Control could potentially prove to be a pivotal factor in the match.
The bout itself didn't showcase any particularly standout moments or memorable spots. It was a standard match between skilled competitors. However, the turning point occurred when Becky Lynch executed the Manhandle Slam on Bayley. As Asuka attempted to intervene and prevent the pinfall, Charlotte was quick to react and Spear Asuka right into Becky. This miscommunication led to Bayley capitalizing on the opportunity, successfully rolling up Becky for the pin.
The unfortunate result proved to be a disappointment for Team Bianca, highlighting the significance of effective teamwork in the world of professional wrestling.
It sounds like this SmackDown episode may not have lived up to expectations, with the standout moments being the breakdown of the Brawling Brutes and the excellent Grayson Waller Effect. My rating of 5/10 suggests a somewhat average showing for the night.
While not every episode can be filled with spicy matches or standout moments, my hope for a more spectacular show with competitive matches and intriguing storyline developments in the future is understandable.
