World of Warcraft Console Port Under Ongoing Discussion at Blizzard

During BlizzCon 2023, Blizzard developers addressed some questions from journalists. For example, it became known that the company is constantly discussing the possibility of porting World of Warcraft to consoles.

Holly Longdale, the game's executive producer, mentioned that the concept of a console version is very intriguing, and the company is constantly talking about its realization. Longdale noted that Blizzard is in a "favorable position" for discussions about console versions. Neither logistics nor hardware issues with consoles should hinder their release.

Holly also touched on the topic of balance for consoles. It's a complex issue, and the game's accessibility (presumably in terms of balance and controls) will likely be "different." Longdale summed up that the team is currently focused on "The War Within Saga," and she emphasized that Blizzard has become a part of Microsoft.

However, there have been no specific discussions between the two companies yet.Just a reminder, the "The War Within" expansion for World of Warcraft is set to be released in 2024. It will kick off a new trilogy called the "The War Within Saga," with an epic storyline spanning 20 years. However, players have expressed dissatisfaction with the presence of early access in the deluxe edition.
